I heard they had re-stocked Paifon so time to catch some tilapia for dinner. I landed 5 tilapia in about 2 hours. Very tasty they were too, stuffed with lemongrass and ginger, wrapped in aluminium foil and baked on a low heat for 45 minutes.

Yesterday was a much more successful day fishing for tilapia. I landed one rohu and 4 tilapia totalling 2Kg, without hooking a single catfish.

After seeing nearly a ton of tilapia being stocked into the lake last week we thought it might be a good time to catch some. Most of the successful Thais were using earthworms or small live freshwater shrimps. The guy next to me seemed to be doing very well fishing on the bottom with a feeder loaded with tilapia bait and two hooks loaded with earthworms. I built a similar rig but with just one size 8 hook. Unfortunately the tilapia didn’t find my worms, shrimps or bait mix very appetising. After five hours all I caught was two striped catfish, not even one tilapia 🙁

Despite the very cold weather the fish were still hungry. My haul today was 21 striped catfish and a rohu of around 1.8 Kg. While we were there they were restocking with around 700-800Kg of tilapia.

Another all action day. I landed 22 striped catfish the largest of which was around 4 or 5 Kilos. A friend caught this pacu of about 3.5Kg.

In a very fast 4 hour session I pulled out 2 rohu and 15 striped catfish. All of them small but it was non-stop action. If you want to get a friend hooked on fishing, take them to this park.
